¿De dónde eres?

Today we continued introductions by learning how to discuss where we are from and our nationalities. We did a communicative activity. See me for the worksheet.

Where are you from? ¿De dónde eres?
I am from: Soy de… (place)

What’s your nationality? ¿De qué nacionalidad eres?
I am: Soy…. (nationality)

Chao!

When I was Puerto Rican

Today we started reading When I Was Puerto Rican. We are reading the chapter entitled: The American Invasion of Macun.  This reading will be important for you to complete if you were not in class. It’s helping us to understand the term “culture”. Please see me to borrow a book.

Hasta luego.

Posters

Today we worked on our posters on the different regions of SS people. On Monday we will have just a few minutes to finish them and I will put them up outside my classroom.

Be sure to bring a binder on Monday if you haven’t already done so.

Exploring the SS World

Today we worked in groups and started researching the parts of the world that speak Spanish. Tomorrow we will make posters to display our information and I will post them on the class bulletin board!

Beginning of the Year Expectations

Today we went over the syllabus for Ms. Fitz’s 2013-2014 Spanish Class. If you need a copy of the syllabus, there is a link in the “Resources” section of this website.

Remember that you need to be on time, prepared and maintain that level of RESPECT that we are promoting in my classroom.

See you tomorrow!

The Spanish Speaking World

Today we did a fun matching activity to get us a little bit more familiar with the countries that speak Spanish as an official language. We had winners that completed the puzzle in 3 minutes and 20 seconds!

La Primera Clase

I hope you’re as excited as I am to start this new year together! Don’t forget to get a 1-inch binder (used exclusively for Spanish class) dividers, and loose leaf paper by Friday. This will be your first assignment of the year.

Try to watch the US Open Final tonight at 5pm! It’s Rafael Nadal (a Spaniard) vs. Novak Djokovic. GO SPAIN!
